Armstrong R/C Flyers

Article 1: Purpose
The purpose Armstrong RC Flyers are primarily a fixed wing model aircraft. No helicopters will be allowed or turbine propelled models.
All activities shall comply with the Academy of Model Aeronautics rules and regulations also Armstrong RC Flyers rules, safety rules, & by-laws.
Article 2: Membership
All members must have in their possession an up to date AMA membership card.
The Board of Directors will determine the eligibility of all applicants and have the power to reject any applicant determined to be unsuitable. The Board can reject the membership renewal of any individual. A unanimous vote of the Board of Directors is needed to reject a new applicant or a membership renewal. Upon acceptance for membership, each individual shall agree to accept the club's By-laws, flying field regulations and pay such dues, initiation fees, or assessments that are in effect. No member shall have the right, title, or interest in the Armstrong RC Flyers property.
Termination and expulsion. Any member in good standing may resign his/her membership by giving notice to the club. If any member ceases to have the
qualification necessary for membership in the AMA, his/her membership in the club shall thereby terminate, subject to reinstatement upon restoration of
eligibility. This section provides for enforcement of rules that are related to flying activities. Also any other unacceptable behavior by an individual member
or members becomes the responsibility of the Board of Directors. Any individual may be expelled from membership from the club by a two-thirds(2/3) majority vote
of the Board of Directors, if in the Board of Directors determination, such individual willfully commits any act or omission which is a violation of any of the terms
of these by-laws, rules of the AMA, or Armstrong RC Flyers rules and safety rules which is detrimental to the club, the AMA, or to the lessor.
Any member who is expelled from membership may be reinstated to membership only by two-thirds(2/3) majority vote of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall have the discretionary authority to provide for the to impose disciplinary action for such acts or omissions, which do not justify expulsion from membership.
Article 3: Officers
Board of Directors will be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety/Field Marshal.
The President shall be the leading member of the Armstrong RC Flyers and shall preside, if possible, at all general, special, and committee meetings. The President shall also preside as chairman of the Board of Directors. The President shall call a minimum of three(3) board meetings per year, May, July, and September. The President has the authority to form committees and call meetings when needed.
The Vice-President shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President. Further, the Vice-President may assume the duties of any other officer during such officer's absence if requested to do so by the President or Board of Directors.
The Secretary shall maintain accurate and complete records of all general, special, and Board of Director's meetings. The Secretary shall maintain a complete club roster, including member's AMA number and members address. The Secretary shall also handle all club correspondence under the direction of the President.
The Treasurer shall maintain accurate and complete records and accounts of the club finances. The Treasurer shall report on the club's financial status at each meeting. Additionally, the Treasurer shall maintain a file of written receipts for all moneys received or spent.
Safety Officer/Field Marshal will be responsible in assisting the Board of Directors in the development and enforcement of the club rules and safety rules.
If an officer is unable to complete their term or becomes unable to perform their duties officers will move up in position to keep continuity. The remaining officers will then appoint a replacement for the vacancy.
Any expenditure over $500.00 must be approved by the membership.
Elections will be held at the September meeting. All elected officers of the club shall serve for a term of one year, starting November 1st and ending October 31st.
Officers are to be elected by simple majority vote of the membership present at the annual meeting held during October meeting.
Nominations for club office may be made by any active club member holding voting rights, either in person or by submitting in writing to any existing officer prior to the meeting or during the September meeting.
Article 4: Meetings
Regular scheduled meetings will be held at the field the second Sunday of the month at 2:00pm May, July, September. When a non scheduled meeting is required members will be notified by email or phone of the time and place.
Article 5: Dues
Annual dues to be paid with application from January 1st thru January 31st. Any dues paid after January 31st will place the member in a new member class requiring a probation period. The dues of new members joining the club after July 15th will be pro-rated.
The Board can submit changes to the annual dues to the membership at any meeting. Members must be notified of dues changes two weeks prior of a vote. Changes must be approved by a voting majority of members present.
Dues are single open membership $50.00 per year.
Junior membership age 18 and under $25.00.
Article 6: Amendments to By-laws
All amendments must be given to the Board in written form for consideration and review.
Proposal will be brought before a general meeting for discussion. A vote will be taken the following meeting. Changes will be made to the By-laws by a majority vote of the voting membership present.
